Power Electronics & Drives Experiment Bench Trainer (Model: XPO-PEDEB)

The XPO-PEDEB is an advanced and versatile platform for research and experimentation, featuring reconfigurable and replaceable power modules that allow users to achieve over 14 different circuit topologies. The ability to modify controllers or control strategies (S/W) facilitates quick verification and testing of novel ideas, with support for a variety of controllers in the rack. Utilizing the XPO-EST/DSP Texas 28335, the system enables rapid verification and testing of software strategies in embedded C, allowing for the substitution of controllers as per research requirements. The setup includes various output options such as SPWM, SVPWM, Trapezoidal, interfaced through a 26-pin FRC to motors using IGBT power modules. Hall current sensors, opto-isolated DC bus voltage interface PCBs, and other components are thoughtfully integrated for advanced experimentation.

SALIENT FEATURES:

  • XPO-PEDEB provides reconfigurable & replaceable power modules, which may be interconnected to achieve more than 14 different circuit topologies. User can change modify controller or control strategy (S/W) as per research need, facilitating quick verification and testing of new ideas.
  • XPO-EST/DSP Texas 28335 is used to facilitate quick verification and testing of software strategies in embedded C, you can substitute your choice of controller in the rack. MATLAB based advanced experiments supported, MATLAB (Ver. 18) not in scope of supply.
  • SPWM, SVPWM, Trapezoidal etc. outputs from controller interfaced through 26 pin FRC to motors using IGBT power module, 3 line encoder signals as applicable are used as feedback. AC/DC hall current sensors & onto isolated DC bus voltage interface PCBs (SSCV & SSCI) mounted inside.
  • Light weight yet sturdy, table top Aluminium profile modular flat demo panel setup, carrying various high voltage components housed in plastic modular panels with colourful overlays to minimize shock possibility & easy servicing.
  • Facilitates easy and safe wiring by students due to use of 4mm Shrouded banana patch cords & ABS moulded sturdy panels for high
    voltage circuits.
  • Colourful screwless overlays showing circuits diagrams & its connection tag numbers for easy understanding and connections, experiments also set of Instructor Guide & Student Workbook.
  • Order separately (1 rack with 1 motor).

Technical Specifications

Instrumentation Power supply cum Multichannel DPM panel (EMT 8) (6 Shrouded sockets)

  • DC Multi Output power supply.
  • Supplies DC power to neighbouring signal conditioning circuit panels like EMT9, CIP1, CIP2, MIT12, CE7 etc. through 20 pin FRC cable.
  • Provides 1 Ph. AC supply through 3 MCB’s, 4A each to power up other panels in the rack.
  • Optionally Multichannel 4 position DPM for Speed, Torque etc.
  • Green shrouded socket provided to extend earth.
